MY GREATEST EXTRAVAGANCE

My greatest extravagance is time,

therefore I take mine.

Respectfully, cancer taught me

the difference between

false urgency and true emergency

and only one of those ‘cy’s

got anything to do with M-E.

I breathe deep and keep count,

keep the inhale shorter

than the breath that spills out,

push in the third eye

at the top of my nose,

hun and compose

sweet melodies accompanied

by chirping cardinals outside.

What a joy it is to be alive!

What a joy it is to breathe.

To breathe is to be loved by God.

I take time to breathe

out of reverence for the God in me.

God is breath.

The Holy Ghost is air.

My belly fills with the Divine.

Victory is mine!
